Students who've paid for a paywalled course should contact you directly to request a refund. Refunds are issued by you, the course creator, from your own Stripe or PayPal account.
Refunds can be issued within 7 daysof the student's purchase. After that, the Refund button is no longer available in learnfrom.
When you refund a student, the platform fee for that enrollment is deducted from your next invoice— platform fees are not reimbursed to you in cash. If that deduction brings an invoice below zero, the excess is recorded as account creditand applied automatically to your future invoices.
How to issue a refund
- Open the course's student list and find the paid enrollment.
- Click
Refundnext to the student (available for 7 days after purchase). learnfrom triggers the refund through the original payment provider (Stripe or PayPal), revokes the student's access, and deducts the platform fee from your next invoice. - You can also issue refunds directly in your Stripe or PayPal dashboard if you prefer — in that case, remember to revoke access on learnfrom manually.
What happens to course access
When you refund from learnfrom, access is revoked automatically. When you refund directly in Stripe or PayPal, you need to revoke access manually from the course's student list.
Students: how to request a refund
Each course has a contact email set by the creator — look for it on the course page. learnfrom does not process refunds on behalf of creators.
