Connect Stripe or PayPal

Onboard with Stripe Connect or PayPal Partner Referrals to accept payments.

To accept payments for Paywall courses, you need to connect a payment provider. learnfrom supports both Stripe and PayPal — you can connect either or both. Stripe uses Stripe Connect Standard and PayPal uses PayPal Partner Referrals, so in both cases you keep full control of your own account.

How to connect Stripe

  1. Open AccountPayments.
  2. Click Connect Stripe.
  3. You're redirected to Stripe to either sign in or create an account.
  4. Complete Stripe's onboarding (business info, bank account, identity verification).
  5. Stripe sends you back to learnfrom when finished.

How to connect PayPal

  1. Open AccountPayments.
  2. Click Connect PayPal.
  3. You're redirected to PayPal to sign in (or create a Business account) and approve the connection.
  4. PayPal sends you back to learnfrom when finished.

The connection states

  • Not connected — you see Connect Stripe.
  • Pending / Setup incomplete — Stripe is still verifying. You see Continue setup.
  • Active / Stripe Connected — ready to accept payments. You see Open Stripe Dashboard →.
  • Restricted — Stripe needs more info before you can accept new payments.
Tip:Use the Open Stripe Dashboard → link to manage payouts, view individual charges, and download tax documents directly in Stripe. PayPal payouts and history live in your PayPal Business dashboard.

Which provider gets used?

If you only have one provider connected, every checkout uses that one. If you have both connected, you can pick a preferred provider in AccountPayments — new course checkouts will default to that provider. Students always see one provider per course at checkout.

Where each provider is available

Your country (where you, the creator, live and pay taxes) determines which providers you can connect. Students can pay from almost anywhere — these limits apply to receiving funds.

  • Stripe — available in 47+ countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, most of the EU/EEA, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, and the UAE. See Stripe's global availability page for the full list.
  • PayPal — available in 200+ countries and regions worldwide for receiving payments. See PayPal's country list for full details on what's supported in each region.
Tip:If Stripe isn't available in your country yet, PayPal is usually the fastest path to getting paid. You can always add Stripe later when it becomes available.
