AI assistants & MCP

Let your AI assistant build and run your courses

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible assistant to learnfrom. Describe what you want; the assistant does the setup, and you stay in control.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use other apps on your behalf. learnfrom runs a remote MCP server, so an assistant you already use can work in your learnfrom account directly, from a conversation, with the permissions you give it.

It is included on every plan at no extra cost. Invitations sent through an assistant follow the same per-student billing as any other enrollment.

What an assistant can do

Courses

Create, edit, publish, unpublish, archive, duplicate and delete courses. Set visibility, price, currency, certificates and SEO fields.

Modules and lessons

Add and reorder modules and lessons. Write lesson content in Markdown and build quizzes with single choice, multiple choice and true/false questions.

Videos and files

Import a video or a downloadable file from a link, or get an upload link, and check when a video has finished processing.

Students

See your students and how far they have got, invite people by email, resend invitations and remove students.

Connect in minutes

Pick your assistant and follow the steps. Sign-in happens automatically, no keys to copy. Menu names change over time, so check the assistant's own help if a label looks different.

Other tools and scripts

Any MCP client that supports OAuth can use the same server address. Tools that cannot sign in through a browser, such as the MCP Inspector or your own scripts, can use a personal token instead. In learnfrom, open Account, Integrations, AI assistants (MCP), create a personal token and copy it, then send it as Authorization: Bearer <token>. You can disconnect any app or revoke any token there at any time.

Example prompts

  • Create a course called “Sourdough for Beginners” with three modules: Getting started, Baking and Troubleshooting. Add two lessons to each with short Markdown notes. Keep it private, I’ll review it first.
  • Import this video as the first lesson of my Baking module: https://example.com/intro.mp4. Tell me when it has finished processing.
  • Make my Sourdough course public and publish it. Show me the link when it’s live.
  • Invite these people to Sourdough for Beginners: ann@example.com, bob@example.com. Then show me how far along my current students are.

Built to keep you in control

You choose the permissions

Each connection asks for specific permissions: read courses, see students, change courses, and invite or remove students. Nothing is shared until you approve.

Previews before risky actions

Deleting content, removing a student, or inviting more than 10 people at once shows a preview first and needs a second, matching confirmation.

No surprise charges

Invited people are not enrolled until they accept, and per-student billing starts then. The assistant shows the expected cost in the preview.

Daily email limit

Up to 200 invitation emails a day, and 25 a day for accounts under a week old.

No access to money settings

There are no tools for payouts, payment providers or refunds, and students who paid cannot be removed by an assistant.

Full activity log

Every action is recorded with the time, the app and the result, without lesson text or student email addresses. Disconnect an app or revoke a token at any time and access ends immediately.

Assistants treat text in your courses and your students' names as data, not instructions. Still, only connect assistants you trust, and review what they publish. Student data shared with an assistant is processed by that assistant's provider; see our privacy policy.
