Every learnfrom course can give students a personalized certificate of completion that they can view, share as proof of completion, and download as a PDF.
How to enable or disable certificates
Open the course, click the Settings gear icon, and go to the Contact tab. Toggle Enable Certificate on or off. Certificates are on by default for every course you create.
When students get access
- The course has
Enable Certificateswitched on. - The student has completed every lesson in the course.
- The student has a name on their account (so the certificate can be personalized).
Until those conditions are met, a locked certificate button appears in the course sidebar with a tooltip explaining what's missing.
What the certificate page looks like
The certificate lives at a public URL and shows the student's name (and profile photo if set), the course title, the course creator, and the completion date. Anyone with the link can view it as proof of completion.
Downloading as a PDF
On the certificate page, students click Download PDF to save a copy that visually matches the on-screen version. The PDF is generated in the browser — no extra setup or fees.
Turning certificates off
Switch the Enable Certificate toggle off and the certificate button disappears for everyone enrolled in that course. The certificate URL also returns a not-found page until you re-enable it.
